While injecting fresh water in saline aquifers, an interface zone develops between saline and fresh water whose concentration varies from that of saline water to that of fresh water. Study of this interface zone is necessary for assessing the radial coverage up to which fresh water front has reached. Mixing and movement of both fresh and saline water along with length of the interface zone depends upon the longitudinal dispersivity of the aquifer. In the study, longitudinal dispersivity of the aquifer of Golewala watershed, Dist. Faridkot, Punjab is evaluated.
