Farm machines/implements for tillage, sowing/planting, harvesting and threshing operations were run in the fields of in farmers of different Farm Machine Banks of Madhubani, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur and Sitamarhi districts in Kharif 2011–12 and Rabi 2012–13 on custom hiring basis. The total earnings of Farm Machine Bank in Madhubani, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur and Sitamarhi from Kharif 2011–12 to Rabi 2012–13 were Rs.1,57,239/-, Rs. 1,21,655/-, Rs. 1,30,848/- and Rs. 79,501/- respectively. The impact of Farm Machine Banks on farm mechanization growth rate in different identified districts after completion of one crop cycle were found ranging between 2.34 and 16.07%. The impacts of Farm Machine Bank on socio-economic condition of farmers in identified districts were evaluated in terms of percentage capital recovery as well as income share expressed as percentage of total annual farm income. The percentage capital recovery in identified Farm Machine Banks ranged between 15.90 and 31.45% in one crop cycle. An additional income to the farmers as their percentage share of total annual farm income earned from operation of machine in farm machine bank Madhubani, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur and Sitamarhi were 13.73%, 7.34%, 3.16% and 2.67% respectively.
