Abstract

In order to increase production and productivity of vegetables a manually operated plastic mulch sheet and drip laying machine was designed, developed and evaluated in the actual field conditions. The total time required to lay mulch sheet with developed machine was 21.27 man-h/ha at a speed of 1.05 km/h. The theoretical field capacity, actual field capacity and field efficiency of the developed prototype was observed as 0.114 ha/h, 0.094 ha/h and 82.45% respectively.
