Abstract

The major causes for low yield at farmer fields are conventional planting method, drought, poor management practices and imbalance nutrient management which result in less plant population and lodging. A field experiment was conducted during 2011–12 and 2012–13 at Research Farm of Genda Singh Sugarcane Breeding and Research Institute, Seorahi, Uttar Pradesh. An experiment consist of Six treatments were laid out in Randomized Block Design with four replication & Sprouted shoots were produced significantly higher when ratoon crop managed by T6 treatment. Crop grown under T6 treatment exhibited significantly higher shoot population (196.74 and 196.16 thousand per ha), NMC (141.99 and 143.23 thousand per ha) over T1, T2 and T3 treatments in both the years, respectively. Sugarcane ratoon crop with 180 kg/ha N + 60 kg P2 O5 +40 kg K2 O in ratoon cane of trench planted crop with earthing produced 69.01 t/ha and 69.53 t/ha cane yield which 19.16 and 18.49 per cent higher than T1 treatment in both the years, respectively. Sucrose per cent was not affected significantly by different treatments in both the years.
