Efficacy of biofertilizers on growth and yield of okra (Abelmoschus Esculentus L. Moench)

Abstract

The experiment was conducted at Horticulture Research Farm of the Department of Applied Plant Science (Horticulture), Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Vidya Vihar, Rae Bareli Road, Lucknow (U.P.), during the year 2014. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with 3 replication and 9 treatments. The observations on height of plant (cm), number of leaves per plants, branches per plants, stem diameter (cm), number of flowers per plant, number of days taken to first fruit formation, number of fruits per branch, length of fruits (cm), weight of fruit (g), fruit yield per plant (gm), fruit yield per plot (Kg) and fruit yield q/ha. On the basis of present investigation it may be concluded that the application of inoculants T8 (PSB + Azotobactor + N + P + K (100% + 100% + 75% + 100% + 100%, respectively) increased growth and yield of okra. It is more significant compared to other treatment.
