Abstract

A series of new complexes involving Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) ions and Schiffs base ligand obtained by condensation of 2-amino-4-(fluorophenyl) Thiazole and salicylaldehyde have been synthesized. The complexes are characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility, IR and electronic spectral studies. The IR spectral study shows that azomethinic nitrogen and oxygen of phenolic group are taking part in co-ordination. All the complexes are having octahedral geometry. These complexes were also screened for their fungicidal activity against Phoma-exigua, Macrophomino-phaseoli and _Colletotrichum by Growth method.
