Abstract

This study focuses on the development and application of a ready reckoner to assess soil quality based on key soil parameters: pH, Electrical Conductivity (EC), Organic Carbon (OC), Phosphorus (P), Potassium (K), Iron (Fe), Manganese (Mn), Copper (Cu), Zinc (Zn), and Bulk Density (BD). A regression-based scoring system was developed for each parameter, wherein higher scores reflected better soil quality. These individual scores were then aggregated to compute an overall soil quality score. The soil quality classification criteria developed by Cornell University, USA, served as the benchmark for interpreting the results.
