Abstract

Unique assemblage of flora and fauna in Himalayan region makes it one of the most biodiverse hotspot on the Indian subcontinent. This area is a store house of numerous medicinal plants. Garhwal Himalayan region Is a rich source of medicinal plants, some of which have been explored and some are still underutillzed. The present study concerned with exploration of some indigenous plants which have been traditionally used by Indigenous people In Garhwal Himalaya, but they have until recently been neglected by research Institutions, policy planners and food and medicine processing industries. The study deals with the some indigenous plants used In traditional healthcare in Kedar Valley of western Himalaya district Rudraprayag (Uttarakhand).
