Abstract

The predominant reasons for the non adoption or low adoption of the technology by the farmers apart from lack of the technical know-how, lack of awareness and knowledge regarding improved cultivation practices is mainly due to certain constraints such as credit, storage, marketing and so on. Thus, there is a need to identify the constraints faced by the farmers in adoption of cauliflower cultiva tion technology. This study was undertaken in Govindgarh panchayat samiti of Jaipur district. From the Govindgarh panchayat samiti five gram panchayats were selected purposely on the basis of highest area and production. Ten villages were selected from the selected gram panchayats by using simple random sam pling with proportional allocation to the size of selected gram panchayats. A sample of 100 respondent farmers growing cauliflower at least in 1 bigha were selected from each selected village by using simple random sampling with pro portion to the size of selected village. The constraints faced by the farmers were measured by a schedule developed by the investigator in light of the suggestions of the experts. The data were collected by personal interview with the farmers and then classified, tabulated and inferences were drawn after subjecting the da ta to appropriate statistical analysis.
