Effect of time of budding in ber (Zizyphus mauritiana) under different growing conditions

The present experiment was carried out during 2009–12 at farm nursery of the department of Horticulture, CCSHAU Hisar. The ber seedling were raised in the nursery bed and poly bags in the month of April and T budding was done during 4_th week of June, 2^nd & 4^th week of July and 2^nd week of August. Minimum time for bud sprouting (20.8) was taken in seedlings budded during 4^th week of June in nursery beds. It was observed that the seedlings raised in nursery beds gave maximum bud sprouting (75%) when the budding was done during last week of July followed by budding during 2^nd week of August with 60% bud sprouting. However, maximum survival (100%) was recorded in polybags planted during 4^th week of July and 2^nd week of August. Maximum shoot length (26.8cm) was recorded in seedling budded during 4^th week of July in nursery beds.
