An experiment was conducted at HRC on defoliation duration and techniques of veneer grafting in mango. The defoliation was done at 7, 9, 12 days before scion stick detached from mother plant and veneer grafting done at monthly intervals ie. 16th August and 15th September 2014. findings of propagation study revealed that the veneer grafting performed in August after using 9 days old defoliated scion stick had resulted in earliest sprouting, maximum survival and root growth, of grafts. The minimum survival of grafts was observed when 7 days old defoliated scion stick was used for grafting in September, it may be concluded from the result of propagation study that veneer grafting be done in August using 9 days old defoliated scion stick has higher survival and vigorous growing of graft.
