Nematodes are among the most abundant groups of multicellular soil organisms in grasslands (Yeates et al., 1997). They are microscopic, worm-shaped animals virtually invisible to the naked eyes when they are in the soil or within plants material. Although nematodes can cause heavy yield losses worldwide nematodes are often overlooked as crop pests or considered to be pests of minor significance. In the present short review article some chemical/bio-chemical approaches to control plant parasitic nematode are being discussed.
