The present investigation entitled “Effect of organic and inorganic fertilizers on growth, yield and quality of radish (Raphanus sativus L.) cv. Japanese White ”was carried out at Department of Applied Plant Science (Horticulture), Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow (U.P.) during rabi season of 2012–13. The recommended dose of inorganic nutrients or fertilizers (RDF) was applied with Vermicompost, Farm Yard Manure (FYM) and Neem cake in different ratios. The result showed that the maximum plant height (23.92 cm) was recorded under 25% RDF +75% FYM, number of leaves (21.00), length of roots ((24.70 cm), diameter of roots (5.23cm) and yield (138.20 q/ha) was recorded under the treatment 25% RDF +75% FYM. The quality parameters were recorded maximum in respect of reducing and non-reducing sugars (2.87, 20.07% respectively) under 25% RDF +75% FYM. Whereas, ascorbic acid (8.43%) was recorded maximum under 50% RDF +50% Neemcake while, all growth and quality parameters were found minimum under control. The study conducted that 25% RDF +75% FYM was proved to be the best for better growth, yield quality of radish cv. Japanese White.
