In the present study, capability of certain bacterial isolates was explored towards mitigation of Regent (Fipronil)-an active substance of (5-amino-1-[2, 6-á, á, á-trifluoro-ğ-tolyl]-4-trifluromethylsulfinyl pyrazole-3-carbonitrile) and coragen-an active substance of (3-Bromo-N-[4-chloro-2-methyl-6-(methylcarbamoyl) phenyl-1-(3-chloro-2-pyridine-2-yl)-1H-pyrazole-5-carboxamide) was assessed. There are some microorganisms which can survive in the place that is contaminated with pesticides. So, identification and characterization of these microorganisms is important to study because it has potential to degrade the pesticide and also can be used in bioremediation. Fipronil is effective at low field application rates against micro-organisms. In case of coragen, the degradation of the metabolites is low. The maximum tolerance upto 100 ppm of pesticide regent and coragen were further biochemically and physiologically characterized. During growth kinetics studies concomitant decrease in regent and coragen concentration was observed after 144 hours of incubation which indicates the degradation of these pesticides. Hence it may be concluded that both pesticides supplemented in the medium were totally mineralized which was also evidenced by appearance of no spot for the respective pesticides on TLC plates. Genomic DNA was isolated from both strains of regent and coragen pesticide. It concludes that Psedomonas spp. identified by biochemical testing has a big role in degradation of pesticides present in the soil.
