Field experiments were conducted during season of Rabi 2014–15 and 2015–16 at experimental research farm of Institute of Pesticide Formulation Technology, Gurgaon, India. Thifluzamide 24% SC @ 2.5 and 3.0 ml/10 kg seed was effective in controlling the black scurf disease of potato and to increase the yield during both seasons. Thifluzamide 24% SC at all the doses including the highest dose did not show any sort of phytotoxicity symptoms Viz., leaf injury on tips/surface, necrosis, wilting, epinasty, hyponasty and vein clearing etc., on the crop during the testing period hence found non phytotoxic to the crop during both seasons. Since there was no significant difference in 2.5 ml/10 kg seed and 3.0 ml/10 kg seed. Thifluzamide 24% SC @ 2.5 ml/10 kg seed is suggested for the control of the black scurf disease of potato crop. There was no phytotoxicity effect (rating 0) on potato crop due to the application of different doses of Thifluzamide 24% SC after 5, 10 and 15 days after treatment during both seasons.
