Abstract

Richard Terry first described the condition Terry's nail in 1954. The white color of the nail is attributed to the overgrowth of connective tissue between the nail and bone. The presence of Terry's nail is not pathognomonic for any specific disease entity but it gives clue to the presence of systemic disease. In young patients with Terry's nail, work up for systemic diseases is warranted.
