Introduction: This is a retrospective review of records at the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, an area neighbouring Pune in Maharashtra state in India. Method: A pilot project for dog-bite management was started in 2009, and data for the past 7 years has been studied. Results: The incidence of dog bites has shown a gradual increase from 4.5 to 5.9/1,000. This is much below the number quoted in the APCRI survey of 17.4/1,000 but closer to other published local studies. Number of bites were analysed for each area. Conclusion: Incidence of dog bite has increased over the years, and concentration of population and roadside eateries could be an influencing factor.
