Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) has noted the existence of certain moral principles underlying professionalism: excellence, humanism, accountability and altruism. In recent years, concerns over the challenges to professionalism among physicians have triggered curricular reforms in medical education. The goals of the medical education reform were to enhance humanistic concerns in medical education. Awareness of student perceptions enables educators to assure the content and facilitate the impact of positive factors and minimise the negative factors.
