Background:The purpose of this study is to highlight the knowledge, attitude and practices of pregnant women regarding the healthy diet during pregnancy and importance of antenatal diet during pregnancy, types of food need to be taken and have to avoid during pregnancy, daily nutritional requirements dietary components of extra micro and macronutrients and it sources. Results:The study results revealed that in comparing the pre- and post-test knowledge, attitude and practice of the primigravida mothers were significant at the level of p> 0.000. Hence, it can be concluded that the structured teaching programme is effective in improving knowledge, attitude and practice on antenatal diet among primigravida mothers. Conclusion:Structured teaching method is simple and inexpensive and can be performed by nurses to antenatal mothers to improve the health of the mother and foetus.
