Effect of nematodes and fungal pathogens on growth parameters of ginger
Abstract
Among the two fungi viz Fusarium oxysporium and Pythium aphanidermatum isolated from the diseased ginger rhizome the former showed comparatively more damaging potential. Similarly among the two major nematodes of ginger viz Pratylenchus coffeae and Meloidogyne incognita the former was found more damaging. With the same trend the association of F oxysporium and P coffeae was more harmful to the crop in comparison to association of M incognita with either of the two fungi.
