Trials were conducted at Horticultural Regional Research and Training Station Dhaulakuan, district Sirmour, Himachal Pradesh during the year 2012 to evaluate the effect of different growing media on mass proliferation of Ghee-kanwar, Aloe vera Linn. The plants were grown under seven different growing media in order to study the effect on the proliferation of plants and their yield potential. Different growing media played significant role in plant regeneration of A vera in reference to leaves initiation, shoot elongation and suckering rates though the variations were mainly dependent upon the different composition of growing media. Significant increase in leaf yield and mass proliferation of A vera were recorded in growing media composed of soil, vermicompost and sand in equal proportion in comparison to control plot treatment (only soil).
