A grouse of swelling and shrinkage problem in non-durable wood is pronounced highly. Wood moisture makes equilibrium with relative humidity of surrounding air which leads to imbalance in the wood dimensions and restricts its potential uses. Various chemicals and stabilizers are used to make wood dimensionally stable but problem arises when these leach in environment and cause health hazards. In this investigation Acorus calamus rhizome extract was used for treatment with different concentrations to eliminate dimensional instability in Pinus roxburghii Sargent, Celtis australis L and Bombax ceiba L wood specimens.
