Expectations of pulses seed growers-an analysis

Abstract

The study was conducted in three blocks namely Kinathukadavu, Thondamuthur and Karamadai of Coimbatore district, Tamil Nadu. In total 90 pulse seed growers 30 from each block were selected randomly. It was undertaken to assess the expectations of pulse seed growers. The major expectations expressed were availability of inputs/seeds at right time (mean score 2.96), more trainings for them (mean score 2.78), availability of extension services (mean score 2.65), more programmes in the media about seed production (mean score 2.69), access to credit and loans (mean score 2.49), high price for the produce (mean score 3.00) and a few expected more marketing channels for quality seed.
