Abstract

Rhizobacterial isolates isolated from rhizosphere of Dalbergia sissoo were screened for advantageous traits viz IAA production, ammonia secretion, phosphate solubilization and bio-fungicidal activity. Eighty per cent of the isolates were IAA producers which ranged from 2.292 to 70.135 μg/ml. P-solubilization index varied from 1.25 to 2.89. Forty five per cent of the selected isolates showed antagonistic activity when tested against Fusarium oxysporum and Ganoderma lucidium under in vitro conditions; highest seed germination was reported with the isolate SD87. Under pot conditions SD97, SD99 and SD6 caused highest increase in nodule number, shoot length and root length respectively. Twenty seven per cent of total isolates were Gram positive while rest were Gram negative.
