Abstract

The present investigation was done at main experiment station, Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Faizabad, UP during Kharif season of 2012 with four treatments of biocompost and two varieties of rice viz Narendra Usar Dhan-3 and NDR-359. Eight treatments designated in factorial RBD were applied and replicated twice. The biocompost was applied as a basal application before transplanting. The observations were recorded at 30, 60, 90 DAT and at maturity stage of rice crop. The application of biocompost @ 6 tonnes/ha in variety Narendra Usar Dhan-3 was found most effective in increasing the plant height whereas nitrogen content, biomass and grain yield were higher in NDR-359 which proved better than Narendra Usar Dhan-3.
