The experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of different concentrations of indole-3butyric acid (IBA) and naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) on the rooting ability of Aglaonema modestum, Pelargonium hortorum, Jacobinia carnea, Fuchsia, Schefflera arboricola andRhaphidophora decursiva. The experiment was laid out on 6 different species of pot plants in a CRD design with 3 levels of IBA (1000, 2000 and 4000 ppm), two levels of NAA (500 and 1000 ppm) and one control replicated five times. A modestum, R decursiva and P hortorum produced the plants with maximum per cent survival, number of roots, root length and fresh weight when the cuttings were treated with 1000 ppm NAA. In case of Jacobinia and Fuchsia maximum per cent survival, number of roots, root length and fresh weight per rooted cutting resulted with the auxin treatment containing 2000 ppm IBA while 4000 ppm IBA gave best results for all parameters in Schefflera.
