Vitex negundo Linn, commonly known as Bana is an important Indian woody plant whose every part owns medicinal properties. It is used for curing broad ambit of health problems in traditional medicine practices. The raw drug of this plant is a component of variety of commercially available Ayurvedic formulations and also used as effective insect repellent. V negundo is greatly used due to its medicinal importance in Kangra valley of Himachal Pradesh. The present study was aimed at to document the traditional uses of V negundo in the valley. The plant can be included in community plantation programmes to further the popularity of the species among rural masses and for the source of additional farming income.
