The root, stem and leaf extract of Lantana camara inhibited the spore germination, bud and gametophore development of Physcomitrium japonicum (Hedw.) Mitt. The inhibition increased with increase in the concentrations of root, stem and leaf extract. However, increase in time period, reduces the inhibitory effects of allelochemicals, hence, the spore germination (%) increases with the increase in the time period (number of days).
