An experiment was conducted to study the allelopathic and nematicidal effects of Haloxylon ammodenderon [H. ammodendron] extract. The factors considered for allelopathic effect were the concentration of Haloxylon extract (0, 25, 50 and 100%) and two crops species (wheat and lucerne). The nematicidal effects were investigated at 4 levels of the extract (0, 10, 25 and 100%). The results showed that the Haloxylon extract had allelopathic and nematicidal effects. Allelopathic effects were highest at 100% Haloxylon extract concentration. Gennination and shoot length decreased under 100% Haloxylon extract compared with the control treatment. In the 50% concentration of Haloxylon extract, except for gennination, all of the attributes were reduced compared with the control treatment. In the 25% concentration of extract, only root length was decreased compared with the control treatment. In tenns of the allelopathic effect, lucerne fared better than wheat. Haloxylon extract at 25% concentration could kill 64% parasitic nematodes. Moreover, 25% concentration of Haloxylon extract recorded the lowest inhibition on the growth of lucerne and wheat.
