Abstract

The culture conditions for biomass, protein and cyclosporine A production by Tolypocladium inflatum were optimized. pH 6.0 and temperature 24 C-27 C significantly promoted the biomass and extracellular protein. Glucose and yeast extract were more effective carbon and nitrogen sources, respectively for biomass and extracellular protein production. Synthetic medium supplemented with L-valine promoted 30% increase of cyclosporin A than over the unsupplemented L-valine. It was observed that addition of L-valine favoured higher production of cyclosporin A compared to production method reported earlier.
