Abstract

Biochemical and Physiological changes in Helicoverpa armigera Hubner in relation to botanical and NPV treatments were studied. In physiological changes: the mortality, feeding behaviour, Insect weight and faecal pellet weight were observed from seven treatments of which 5 different botanicals, 1 NPV and 1 combined treatment. In the biochemical changes the carbohydrate, protein, nucleic acid and amino acids were observed from seven treatments, of which 5 different botanicals, 1NPV and 1combined treatment. The mortality of H. armigera larvae was observed at 104PIB/ml concentration of NPV treatment in III star larvae stage. The application of botanicals and NPV, 72 h after the treatment showed 100% mortality of H. armigera and also reduced the protein and carbohydrates contents.
