Effects of botanicals and NPV on biochemical and physiological changes in Helicoverpa armigera Hubner

Biochemical and Physiological changes in Helicoverpa armigera Hubner in relation to botanical and NPV treatments were studied. In physiological changes: the mortality, feeding behaviour, Insect weight and faecal pellet weight were observed from seven treatments of which 5 different botanicals, 1 NPV and 1 combined treatment. In the biochemical changes the carbohydrate, protein, nucleic acid and amino acids were observed from seven treatments, of which 5 different botanicals, 1NPV and 1combined treatment. The mortality of H. armigera larvae was observed at 10⁴PIB/ml concentration of NPV treatment in III star larvae stage. The application of botanicals and NPV, 72 h after the treatment showed 100% mortality of H. armigera and also reduced the protein and carbohydrates contents.
