Abstract

The present paper analyses the significance of transactional analysis in building effective teacher-pupil relationship. Transactional analysis is a theory of human personality and a system for the improvement of human relations. The paper focuses on the applications of transactional analysis as a systematic approach to understand the level between teacher and students. Eric Berne credited with the development of three ego states i.e. child, adult and parent ego states. The paper explains how the understanding of the three ego states, life positions and strokes help in building effective teacher-student relationship in today's competitive environment.
