An intensive study on prevailing development and welfare programme was conducted in the tribal village Dhobaddi of Bankura district, West Bengal, India during 2009. The study intends to find out the implications of Govt. aided development and Welfare programs in the studied village. Data were collected through interviews and observations using the allied techniques. Local beneficiaries and Panchayet personnel were interviewed. The study, instead of its limitations, finds out some loopholes in the way of implementation of Govt. schemes in the studied village. Hence proper attention should be paid from Govt. to increase the efficacy of such developmental schemes.
