The Third World Attitude to Technology Absorption and Transfer

Abstract

As a complex subject scientifically, culturally, politically and economically, the third world technology transfer and absorption are being noticed for years not only by developing countries, but also by many western research communities and international organizations. There is a tangible gap between developed countries and developing ones technologically. Thus, technology transfer is an undeniable necessity to reduce the technology gap between developed nations and underdeveloped ones1.

It is feasible to transfer technology using different methods and means. In fact, technology transfer is specified with regard to technology transferor and transferee positions. Further, technology is obviously a matter of the greatest importance as a key factor in the world's economic development. The current paper aims to present the concept of technology transfer in the third world, explain technology transfer and evaluate successful factors in transferring technology to developing countries.
