Women play a significant and crucial role in agricultural development and allied fields. Most of the agricultural activities are done by women agricultural labourers, but they are socially, economically backward section of the society. They are asset less and facing various problems such as unemployment, low wage, under nutrition, illiteracy, poverty etc. Women agricultural labourers facing so many health problems in working place like injuries, severe pain in legs, neck, hands, while sowing, weeding, transplanting, harvesting and cleaning time. The low income of the women agricultural labourers is the reason that many of them have not been able to visite the hospitals for their treatment of diseases. Generally they are not able to pay much for their health problems. Women agricultural labourers need special attention because these people have distinctive health problems. In this background, this study is conducted on the health status of women agricultural labourers in Karnataka. The major objectives of the study are to understand the health status of women agricultural labourers in Karnataka and to discuss the problems of women agricultural labourers in Karnataka. The study is based on secondary data; secondary data were collected from census of India and Karnataka (2001 and 2011), national sample survey, directorate of economics and statistics, Karnataka. Finally study gives suggestions for better health conditions of women agricultural labourers in Karnataka.
