This paper approaches the issues relating to need for supportive initiatives for sustainable future through higher education. Identifying the problems of higher education is needed to orient youth towards proper learning practices. It is also seen that falling academic standards is influencing the youth behaviour and this needs to be focused. Enhanced with content development and research based learning. Even though higher education has been made supportive with variety of major subjects, vocational subjects and extracurricular learning, under graduate courses lack relevance to sustainable future for millions of youth who need sustainable jobs. Research has suggested that failing to increase appropriation to keep pace with enrolment growth tends to reduce learning and graduation rate in India. India is undergoing a fast & dynamic transformation in the social sphere as the demographic divide is causing the issues relating to employability & engaging youth in life need skills, besides there are social & spatial inequalities which are emerging with several influences in behavioral standards of the youth. Today, there is an immediate necessity to bridge socioeconomic inequities and other factors which are hampering higher education success and lead youth towards sustainability. Hence streamlining of inclusive growth through an integrated approach in higher education policy making is desired,
