Abstract

This paper focuses on providing awareness about physical education among children towards a healthy lifestyle. Researches and studies on physical education consistently have shown that children get multiple benefits from involving in all types of physical education. Elementary Physical education is necessary for mental cognitive and physical growth of children. The consensus opinion of schools teachers, parents and other such stake holders have agreed on the fact that physical activity at the elementary stage supports children towards gaining greater muscular strength, stronger bones, cardiovascular, metabolic health and mental health. Elementary physical education in children supports positive health growth symptoms such as reducing ill health, preventing conditions of depression and besides elementary physical education practices help to enhance self confidence and self-esteem. But there are several challenges to providing physical education in elementary schools because elementary schools lack basic infrastructure and physical education facilities. The governments fail to provide basic physical education facilities because there are several constraints which have to be prioritized.
