This paper explores the vocational opportunities and professional careers which can be created through Sanskrit studies.The Sanskrit is the most ancient language in the world. It belongs to Indo Aryan languages sub group, belonging to the larger group of Indo European languages. Presently, this language is studied by very few aspirants because it is cornered as a complex language with no opening of employment opportunities. At higher education level, colleges and universities are coping with the situation with schemes of innovative courses. The global academic demands and need for translators following internet revolution has increased the need for people who know and interpret this language. The internet services are showing an upwards trend in requirement of translators and interpreters. The global level academic requirements have also created a need for reviewing this language with a view of career making. Hundreds of manuscripts and palm leaf documents are still lay un -deciphered in India. There are very few people who can read Sanskrit manuscripts. The global language services are demanding people who can read and translate hosts of manuscripts lying in temple and religious institutions. Hence there is a need for motivating students to take up Sanskrit studies.
