The present study is aimed at understanding the corporate social responsibility initiatives, being undertaken by select companies for rural development. A list of leading public and private companies has been prepared. The data, required for the study have been gathered from the websites of companies. However, no primary data has been collected from the stakeholders by adopting either interview schedule or questionnaire. The corporate social responsibility initiatives under different captions like, education, health, infrastructure, environment and livelihood have been presented.
