Abstract

A discussion about Middle East is not complete without considering the issue of Israel and Palestine because Middle East matters are interrelated and connected with Israel and Palestine, and are influenced by them. Although all parts of Middle East are important, regarding the political geography, Palestine's events are more important than others.

This area is home to different cultural and ethnic groups such as Iranians, Arabs, Barbariasns, Turks, Kords, and Israelis. This part has attracted the World attention and maybe it has been the most important part of the world Strategically, Economically, Politically, and culturally since the mid 20th century. The region holds the largest reserves of Oil and Gas. (BP Stratics, 2003, 65% of the known global reserves), and is the place of long struggles and wars between Arabs and Israelis. The Middle East is the birthplace of important religions like Zoroastrianism, Jewism, Christianity, and Islam.

The outbreak of five destructive wars between Arabs and Israelis in 1948, 1956, 1967, 1973, 1982, and the Crisis of millions of Palestinian refugees, The Iraq -Iran war (1980–1987) The Kuwait-Iraq war (1990–1991) the military operations of America and its western allies in Kuwait (1991), Afghanistan (2001-cntinued) and Iraq (2003-continued), all show that Middle East is an important region. This research will discuss some of the most important problems such as: The formation of Israel in the Middle East political Map in 1948, and the reasons why none of the UN resolutions about Middle East peace have been operational. Why 21 regional and international Conferences have not been able to solve the problems of millions of homeless Palestinians in last sixty years.
