Academic hardiness, academic performance and home adjustment difficulty

Abstract

The aim of the present study is to find the relationship between Home adjustment difficulty, academic performance and academic hardiness of high school students. The sample contained of 224(110 males and 114 females) 9 and 10 grade of high school students from Mysore. Bells Adjustment Inventory (BAI) and Academic Hardiness Scale (AHS), carried out on the group sample and date analyzed by Pearson correlation and two independent samples T test.

The results revealed that Home adjustment difficulty significantly has negative correlation with academic performance and it has positive correlation with Academic Hardiness. More over the scores of Home adjustment difficulty in girls significantly was more than boys, whereas there are no significant differences between boys and girls in academic performance and Academic Hardiness.
