Investment attitudes of professionals on housing finance: a case study of doctors and chartered accountants in Karnataka state, India

Abstract

Housing finance is a personal financial services, availing this services depends on the saving capacity of an individual, The survey revealed that majority of the respondents are interested in availing home loans from various financial institutions to raise funds that are required for the purchase or construction of house, because of easy availability of home loans. Employment form a basis for earning for an individual, Housing finance is a personal financial services avail in our society to fulfill the dream of owning a house. The research work undertaken has given an insight in to features of housing finance industry. It also provides information on factors, which affect housing finance decision. The research is essentially oriented on professionals; this pours sufficient light on the issues professionals consider before availing loans, which in turn makes it possible to design suitable and easy packages which fit in this class. Majority of the respondents have opined that, they would go for home loans in order to avail tax deduction. A substantial part of them have also said that they would like to go for loans due to shortage of own source.
