Iran's Gas Export to India

Abstract

After the emergence of the new natural Gas sources in Iran, especially in south pars, Iran sought to export larger quantity of its natural Gas. Central Asia, particularly developing countries such as India and Pakistan which lack this commodity, are the most significant markets which enables Iran to accomplish its ambition toward exporting large quantity of natural Gas. During the economic boom in India, securing a huge demand of energy was an objective that received a lot of attention in order to achieve the long-standing aims. For sure this factor has connected Iran to the central Asia especially with abovementioned countries, at the same time it is considered a watershed In Iran's relations with India as well as central Asia. According to the recent statistics, approximately 0/06 percent of world's crude Oil reservoirs are located in central Asia, while Iran owns around about 0/09 of world oil reservoirs. Simultaneously, Iran is the second largest oil producer among OPEC members in addition to 812 trillion cubic feet which is also the second major natural gas reservoirs in the world
