Abstract

During the history and within all past years of Iran's history, Persian Gulf has always been a part of Iran's land and Iranians have ruled over Persian Gulf. While studying some of the historical and political texts related to old periods until now, Persian Gulf is known as Khalije Fars, Bahre Fars, Daryaye Fars, or Khalije Ajam.

The history of Persian Gulf indicates that, this name has been used from the past years till now in all dealings, contracts, and correspondences among all tribes and all nations, who are far or near to Persian Gulf like Fars, Arab, Turk, Hindu, and even Europeans. Further, Persian Gulf, which has a close relationship with old history of Iran, is counted as one of the most important gateways and key region from the viewpoint of the geopolitical position to import and export oil and other fuels as well as doing business and other trade operations.

However, we have observed that, within the past years, some of the neighbouring countries of southern Iran and some countries out-of -region have misnamed Persian Gulf and have used Arabian Gulf instead in, some of the organizations, news, newspapers, journals, and international media.
