Abstract

Present study attempts to find critical factors for data quality (DQ) in implementing an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. This research has provided an understanding of the importance of critical factors of data quality in implement enterprise resource planning systems (ERP). Knowledge of those factors impact on data quality in enterprise resource planning (ERP) is desirable, because those factors can increase the operating efficiency in implementing an (ERP). Data quality can have an effective on other information systems. Therefore, it is essential to understand data quality issues to ensure success in implementing ERP systems. Present paper uses SAP R/3 as an example of an ERP system, which explores data quality problems with existing systems, and identifies critical factors that impact data quality. The case study in one large Iranian organization. The findings of the study suggest that the importance of data quality needs to be widely understood in implementing an ERP, as well as providing recommendations that may be useful for management and stakeholders such as, Data producers, Data custodians, Data consumers and Data managers.
