The study investigates the effect of Cooperative Learning versus traditional teaching method on acquisition of practical skills and social skills in analytical chemistry laboratory course for secondyear chemistry students. The sample consisted of thirty eight students enrolled in analytical chemistry at the college of Education. Two groups were selected as experimental and control groups. Two observation tools were used to collect data for this study. The ‘t’ test was used to analyze the data collected. The major findings were: 1) the cooperative learning was significantly effective on students’ practical skills and collaborative skills; 2) there was no significant difference on practical skills and social skills between boys and girls.
