Entrepreneurship is the core of economic development. It is a multi-dimensional task and essentially a creative activity. Entrepreneurship is key factor of production process in any economy. Women entrepreneurship is a recent phenomenon and need to be pushed. The pushing factors need to be identified based on the place, socio-cultural environment and available opportunities in any economy. So that we can identify the training needs accordingly. Therefore, this study was conducted with a sample size of fifty business entrepreneurs of which 25 represented rural and another 25 represented urban through snap survey. The objectives of the endeavour were to ascertain the motivational factors behind business women entrepreneurs. This paper analyzed the different motivational factors of rural and urban business women entrepreneurs based on place, socio-cultural environment and it also discussed the available opportunities based on the area in which enterprise is established. Finally, this paper suggested the policy making bodies to consider few factors which will affect the pushing factors of these entrepreneurs.
