Abstract

This paper aims at exploring the impact of education on psychological well-being among undergraduate students (19-22years old) with different religious and socio-economic background. One hypothesis that educational level of parents has positive influence on level of psychological well-being of students guides the study. Using random sampling technique 240 students were selected from both public and private colleges in Mysore city. A self-report psychological test (Ryff, 1989) and a structured questionnaire were administered. To test the hypothesis, analysis of variance (ANOVA), one way and one-way ANOVA post hec tests was used to test the difference between level of education, and its relationship with level of students’ psychological well-being. The result shows relationship between education and psychological well-being, the discussion also supported the previous researches in this area.
