Abstract

Education is one of the necessities of globalization, and E-learning is one of the best ways to do it. This study intends to investigate and compare the attitude of academic members (tradition-based and e-learning-based) toward E-learning. The current study is a comparative research that was done experimentally. The participants of the study are teachers teaching in high-level education non-governmental and non-profitable institutes in Golestan province. The instrument of the study is a questionnaire which measures teachers’ attitude toward E-learning. Its content validity has been proved by three experts. To analyse data, descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (Kolomogrov Smironov, T-test) with significance level of 0.05 have been used. The results show that among experienced teachers in e-learning (e-learning based education), skill development is the main factor for them to tend toward e-learning, and they consider it as a requirement for globalization. On the contrary, teachers who are interested in traditional way of learning do not tend toward e-learning because of the type of interaction in this method and also lack of knowledge to this method.
