Abstract

Children are the future builders of the nations. There is a phenomenal growth of mass media including television all over the globe. The role of television as a medium of communication and development is subjected to scientific research in India and elsewhere. A new generation of children has grown up with television exposure in modern society. The impact of television on the personality of the children needs to be examined scientifically and systematically in developing countries. The Governments and policy makers should also formulate the National Broadcasting Policy which would prevent certain programmes which have harmful effects on the personality and progress of children as a matter of social responsibility.
